Riding for a Cause
Community Cleaners directors Alison Blair and Craig Vandeleur are taking on Ride Joburg on Sunday, 22 November 2026, to raise R30,000 or more for the Smit and Market Street fence in Fairland. Every rand pledged goes straight to the fence.

Why We Are Riding
The old Smit and 5th Street dump in Fairland has now been fully demolished. A further R200,000 is needed to fence and enclose that section, so that it cannot be illegally occupied or turned back into a dumping ground.
We know the struggle is real. Everyone is feeling the pinch, and the extra financial pressure that the cost of simply living puts on all of us is exhausting. So we wanted to create a fun way for everybody to get involved: pledge an amount towards our ride, cheer us on to our target times, and help us close off this section for good.
Every extra rand counts. Whether your pledge is R50 or R5,000, it will make a difference. We are aiming to raise the full amount by the end of November.
